HOW TO GET THERE
Fly to Valencia with a budget airline such as EasyJet, Jet2.Com or Ryanair, then get the bus or taxi to Valencia Station. If you haven’t already booked your flight, have a look at this site- www.moneysavingexpert.com/flightchecker and also www.easyjet.com see links below. It is also feasible to fly to Madrid or Alicante by budget airline, and then take the regular mainline train direct to Xativa. You can also get to Xativa by car ( through France or on the Bilbao or Santander ferries) and by direct trains. Xativa is on the main lines from Madrid and the line which goes along the Spanish Coast from Murcia and Alicante to Barcelona and France.
The taxi from Valencia Airport to Valencia Station (Estacion del Nord) takes 20 to 30 minutes and costs around 8-10 euros. From the Station there are good trains every 30 minutes direct to Xativa. You want the local train ( Cercanias Valencia) Line C-2, direction Moixent or L'Alcudia de Cespins. The apartments are only 10minutes easy walk from Xativa Station .
You can also hire a car at Valencia airport ( eg from Sol-Mar at www.solmar-online.com )- but you do NOT need a car to enjoy your stay in Xativa.
( Once you have paid your deposit, you can access the “operating instructions” on this site, which give you very detailed directions on how to get to Xativa and the house. )
